My son's birthday
Today my second child, Michael turned 17. He's growing into a very special young man and I am so amazed by all God has done in his life. He was born really ticked. I don't know why. He came out mad and didn't stop screaming until he was about 2 years old. THe end of screaming was nice, but he still got really mad, really fast. When he was about 3 and a half, I was at the end of my rope, had prayed for wisdom over and over and finally I HAD it. HE was sooo ticked one day and I stopped him, put my finger on my own nose and told him to focus on me. Then I said, "Say, I'm not an angry boy, I'm a happy boy." And in his cute little hoarse (I guess from all the screaming) voice he said "I'm not a angry boy, I'm a happy boy." He broke out in the most beautiful grin and every time he started to throw a fit about something, we'd repeat the routine. Get his attention, make him focus and then repeat the mantra. IT's the only great parenting thing I ever came up with, but man did it work. Instantly.
He's pretty well adjusted these days and makes me laugh on a dime. He's been dating the same girl for almost a year. Today she took him on an all day scavenger hunt. One of the clues was "QUeen Elizabeth is lactose intolerent."
Anyone want to guess where that clue was supposed to lead?
DAIRY QUEEN.
:)
Church tomorrow in our new building. We moved in last week. I'm planning to take my camera so maybe I'll post some pics
